Why Massage?

Touch brings about change within a body.

It is a form of communication that can transcend the physical and psychological barrier between animal and humans.  It is an ancient powerful gift you can give to your animal companion.

Specialized Massage Modalities

Wellness Massage for all body systems

Geriatric Massage for the elderly

Sports Massage for the animal athlete

Massage is about change within the muscle tissues, not about “fixing a problem.” Although the use of touch for health and wellness is a universally developed and recognized healing technique, it is NOT a substitute for Veterinary care. Any illness and/or injury should be evaluated by a vet first,   and it is recommended that you check with your Veterinarian before having massage therapy performed on your pet.

Massage for Animals?

Absolutely! Our pets need massage for many reasons.  Dr. Michael Fox, DVM, LMT, began developing a program for dogs and cats in 1970 that has proven to be integral with good nutrition, holistic preventative medicine, and health maintenance.  He believes it is an essential part of total pet care.

Massage has many physical and psychological benefits.

  • Relieves Stress
  • Enhances Relaxation
  • Reduces Muscle Spasm
  • Greater Joint Flexibility
  • Improved Range Of Motion

This adds up to increased ease and efficiency of movement. Better circulation of blood, lymphatic, and respiratory systems has also been documented.

All these benefits combine to lead to: a healthier, better nourished skin (coat), faster healing time from injury or surgery, reduced pain, spasm, and swelling, reduced formation of scar tissue, and a strengthened immune system.

Together with the prevention of injury, this successfully integrates better physical condition and complete wellness for a healthy and happy animal.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is spiritually guided Lifeforce energy, which assists in the healing and well-being of all.

Animals are especially open to energy work. Their energy fields are by nature more sensitive than ours, and are usually more expanded.

In my work as a Veterinary Technician, I have witnessed firsthand how Reiki can reduce pain, enhance the recovery and healing process of animals, and in general make the animal more comfortable.

It is done by a simple "laying on of the hands" and is a non-manipulative form of touch/energy therapy.

About Bonny

Bonny Donnelly is a Nationally Certified, and Licensed Massage Therapist in Florida, (LMT, NCTMB), and is also a Veterinary Technician, and Reiki Master.  She is certified in canine and feline animal massage and has studied acupressure for animals.  She works with the veterinary community, and is a part of many healing experiences.

Bonny has had a special love and connection with animals all her life.

A facilitator of many different healing techniques, she treats animals with the same care, compassion, and honor as she does her human clients.  Bonny maintains a private practice, working with both people and their pets to help bring them to health, balance and wellness in body, mind and spirit.

I believe Reiki can work in harmony with veterinary medicine, creating an integration of traditional and alternative care. Together with massage therapy, it both revitalizes and balances the health of animals, which aids in promoting homeostasis, and gives a sense of calming, and caring that all animals need.
